A coarse powder containing 150g chlortetracycline hydrochloride per kg.  

Recommended Use
Chlortetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic and is recommended for use as an aid in the treatment of respiratory disease in pigs caused by organisms sensitive to chlortetracycline and respiratory disease in calves caused by pastuerella spp., sensitive to chlortetracycline.
Calves (less than 6 months of age) and Pigs.

Dosage and Administration

For oral administration after incorporation in a feedingstuff by a facility licensed to medicate feed.

The recommended therapeutic dose is 20mg per kg bodyweight daily i.e. 20 grams of CTC 15% Premix per 150 Kg bodyweight. To achieve this dose, CTC 15% Premix should be mixed into feed at the following inclusion rates:

To allow thorough dispersion of the product, CTC 15% w/w Premix for medicated feed should first be mixed with 50kg of feed before incorporating in the final feed

Treatment should be continued for a period of seven days.  
CTC 15% will remain stable in feed for up to 4 weeks.  
CTC 15% can be incorporated in pelleted feed preconditioned at temperatures up to 70C.
CTC 15% will remain stable in pelleted feed for up to 4 weeks.

Contra-Indications and Warnings
When incorporating into feed, care must be taken not to inhale any dust.
When mixing this product, protective goggles, impervious gloves and a dust mask BS 2091 or BS 6061 should be worn, to avoid direct contact with the skin and inhalation of the product.
Wash hands and all exposed skin at the end of the operation.
Do not use in adult ruminants, dairy cows and veal calves. Chlortetracycline toxicity is low.
If digestive disturbances do occur, treatment should be discontinued. 
Long term use of this product is not recommended as it may lead to the development of bacterial resistance.  Ideally, use of the product should be based on susceptibility testing. Inappropriate use of the product may increase the prevalence of bacteria resistant to chlortetracycline and may decrease the effectiveness of treatment with related substances, due to the potential for cross-resistance.

Recommended Withholding Period
Pigs: Must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment or for 6 days thereafter.  
Calves: Must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment or for 35 days thereafter. Do not use in dairy cows.
Pharmaceutical Precautions  

Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place.

This product is not recommended for use with any other premix or oral medication. 
Protect from light. . Do not store above 25C.
Avoid contamination during use. 
Close the container securely after use.
Wash hands after use.

Disposal Precautions
Any unused product or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with national requirements.
